How To Make General Tso’s Chicken

Like many millennials, I do not own a home. Instead, I’ve bounced from rental to rental in city after city, toting my belongings around in more moving trucks than I care to remember. In the midst of all that change, one thing has remained constant: I’ve celebrated each successful move with the same meal—Champagne and General Tso’s chicken.

According to The Museum of Food and Drink in Brooklyn, New York, there are nearly 50,000 Chinese-American restaurants in the U.S. While the menu of course varies from restaurant to restaurant—the vast majority of these establishments are independently owned businesses, after all—there’s one dish you can almost always expect to find: General Tso’s chicken.

Why Triller and Snapchat can’t beat TikTok (unless Trump actually bans it)

The Trump administration’s possible ban on TikTok in the U.S. could prove to be a golden opportunity for the viral video app’s competitors.

If the proposed ban moves forward, its users will undoubtedly defect, and look for a new but similar app to create and post social content. However, it’s going to be very hard for those competitors to recreate the cultural phenomenon that is TikTok. After all, it’s not just a social media platform — it’s a discovery tool; it’s a community; it can ruin the President of the United States’ rally attendance.

Some users have already flocked to competitors’ apps upon hearing the news. One of those apps that’s gaining

Biryani To Noodles On The Menu Of India’s Largest Pizza Chain Dominos

India’s largest pizza chain is trying to cut reliance on its pies.

Jubilant Foodworks Ltd., operator of Domino’s outlets, now also sells kebabs to noodles. In the last year and a half, the company has opened the Chinese cuisine chain Hong’s Kitchen and Ekdum! biryani restaurants.

Biryani is India’s most-ordered dish and Chinese is the second-largest foodservice category, according to data compiled by Swiggy based on online orders. Jubilant Foodworks’ entry in these two segments comes after the acquisition of Barbeque Nation, a grill-themed chain. The company continues to explore growth avenues outside pizzas, more so when the pandemic hurt hotels and restaurants the most.

Diversification into different geographies and cuisines makes the Jubilant Foodworks business less cyclical, ICICI Securities said in a note. The restaurant operator can derive synergies from Barbeque Nation and a better negotiating power with suppliers and food aggregators, it said.
