2nd Language is teaming up with La Campirana to bring you breakfast tamales on Tuesday, May 4 and Wednesday, May 5 in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. The tamales will be served at 2nd Language – get there early as supplies are limited. A special complementary French doughnut flavor will also be offered. 2nd language is open from 7 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Canton Inn will finally be reopening their famous Chinese buffet on Tuesday, May 4. All your Cantonese favorites will be back with two new offerings — potsticker dumplings and bourbon chicken. Masks will be required while at the buffet, and hand sanitizer will be available to sanitize your hands before and after handling utensils.

Food Trucks at the Farmat Farm 57 will begin on Wednesday, May 5. Weather permitting, food trucks from the Evansville Food Truck Association and live entertainers will gather at the Kansas Road location every Wednesday evening from 4:30-8 p.m. for the duration of the summer. While there, shop at Farm 57’s store and greenhouses and grab an adult beverage inside the building. Watch the Facebook page for details and any schedule changes.

Germania Maennerchorwill be serving a German dinner on Friday, May 7 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Enjoy bratwurst with kraut, beans and mashed potatoes for $10. Ordering ahead is not necessary.

The Good Brownie is a new business by Abraham Brown and Ezekiel Campos, owners of La Campirana Mexican restaurant. It will replace Just Cookies in the food court of the Washington Square Mall and has a tentative opening date around the end of May or the beginning of June. The menu will include international baked goods, coffee, sandwiches and more.

The Immanuel Lutheran Church in Northern Vanderburgh County will be hosting a Jonah Fish Fry on Friday, May 7, from 4-6:30 p.m. On the menu will be German potato salad, baked beans, slaw, three pieces of Neptune Food’s Jonah Fish and a cupcake for $10. German potato salad and whole pies will be available for purchase while supplies last. Purchase tickets from church members or at the gate.

KC’s Marina Pointe opening day is Thursday, May 6. Head to the riverfront for live music with Matt Stell and Chris Bandi, food and a full bar.

Mayse Farm Market is open for the season. Greenhouse tomatoes are in the store alongside a large variety of locally and regionally grown produce, other food items and the famous Mayse bakery. Ornamental and bedding plants and hanging baskets are stocked outside. Watch the Facebook page for announcements as new produce is ready.

Savannah’s Café recently announced a closure of the dining room but will be open for a Mothers’ Day breakfast and lunch pop-up on Sunday, May 9, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. The lunch menu will include your choice of fried chicken, meatloaf or roast beef with sides.

Siciliano Subs is hosting a Teacher Appreciation Day on Saturday, May 8 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Teachers may show their teacher ID for a free small sub. Siciliano has also recently purchased a van that will be used as a mobile charcuterie unit and is planning a series of summer fondue parties with cheese fondue, salad, charcuterie and chocolate fondue. Tiki Time Bar & Grill is open for the season. Everyone’s favorite bar and restaurant on a barge will be open Thursday – Sunday the first week of May, and daily from mid-May through the summer season. Have a beachy cocktail, a famous fish sandwich, tacos and more while floating on the Ohio.
