New Jersey is home to countless amazing Chinese food restaurants, well beyond the standard take-out fare.

But according to one national website, the best place to get Chinese food in the Garden State is in Central Jersey.

What makes the Scarborough, Ont., storefront stand out is that it’s the only one in the quiet plaza with a steady flow of customers. They enter empty- handed and emerge with cake boxes. The store carries nine flavours of chiffon cake—each a creamy, airy, layered delight—including the unique black sesame cake, filled with Japanese black sesame seed-infused cream.
